Dear Members & Friends,
We have been busy at the community garden keeping up with our fall harvests as well as planting new seeds for fall and winter crops. All with so many challenges this year: covid-19, smoke, and cool summer temperatures to name just a few. But being in the garden is about experimenting, learning, relaxing, and enjoying friendships with fellow gardeners. In this stressful time, it is even more important to have the comfort and diversion of our garden chores.
In this newsletter, check out our fall suggestions as you put your gardens to bed for the winter as they will make a big difference next year! Consider planting some garlic cloves to enjoy next summer and plant flower bulbs now to provide bright, cheery color in the spring. And if you have perennials that have outgrown their space, we have some tips on how to divide them to share with friends or enhance your landscape.
As always, I sincerely thank you for your support of Garden by the Sea.
Karen Young,
President
