Winter Tasks for Restless Gardeners
Despite the current winter season, there are things you can do now to make your spring tasks easier. Here are a few ideas. - Clean, sharpen, and lightly oil garden tools.
- Check houseplants to be sure they are out of drafty areas.
- Order seed catalogs and develop your wish list!
- Consider keeping a garden journal to keep track of what to plant when, and what plants and techniques were successful (and those that fail).
- Add compost and/or mulch around any tender growth that may have started. Replace mulch displaced by wind and rain.
- Prune blueberry bushes
- Prune deciduous trees and shrubs that require dormant pruning.
